A Review on the Top Steam IronsI know that there are a lot of steam irons out there and picking the right one might be a little difficult for choosing. I want to help you out and give you a basic review of the top 5 that are out there. This will make your decision a lot easier.
Panasonic NI-C78SR Steam/Dry Iron Yes, it migth be hard to believe it, but Panasonic does make irons. A matter of fact is that they make a pretty decent iron and I think it is worthy of the top 5. The first benefit of this iron is the 3way auto shut off. This is really a safety feature that can really help you from getting burned. It's made of stainless steel, so you know that it is going to be smooth on the fabrics and there is no chance that it could end up rusting. The power cord on it has a retractable reel on it, so you don't have a lot of cords lying around with this device. Lastly, it has a self cleaning system that is very good for preventing calcium build up.
Black & Decker Digital Advantage Iron This has to be about the most talked about steam iron that is on Amazon. Well over a thousand people have left reviews. At this time it is currently four and half stars out of five, which is unbelievable for an online rating system. A big part of what makes this particular iron popular is that it has 1500 watts of heating power. It also has a digital display, so you know exactly what the temperature is at all times. Not only that, you can change setting digitally. For example, if you're doing a specific fabric you can digitally change the setting on the iron to that fabric and properly iron it. It has a little LCD monitor for you to do all this digital stuff, so it is definitely the most high tech iron on the market. This is a mini version of a steam iron that is pretty good for home and travel. I think the msot appealing aspect of it is that it is very cheap. You can get this for well under $20 and you're going to get a pretty decent performance out of it. This particular iron is only 420 watts, which is significantly less than the Black & Decker one that I mentioned previously. Since it is smaller it only has a smaller water tank, so you really don't need a lot of power to heat up the water quickly. The interesting part is that it has a heat resistant bag for traveling, so you can pack it pretty fast.
Proctor Silex Lightweight Iron This is an iron that happens to fall under the small category. As the SteamFast, it is also pretty cheap for buying and is well under $20. This iron weighs about 5 pounds and gives pretty decent performance when it comes to steam. It also has an adjustable steam spray, which makes things a little easier for you. This particular iron also gives you a full view of the water reservoir, so you can see exactly what is in the iron at all times.
Rowenta DG8030 Expert Steam Generator This happens to be the high-end steam iron that you could purchase. It is important to note that this is expensive and not that affordable for most people, but it is the best on the market for steam irons and you'll get the most performance out of it. Normally, you'll just have an iron that produces the steam itself, but not with the Rowenta. Basically you're attached to a high power steam system. It helps the steam penetrate deeper into fabrics and iron them better. It has variable steam fabric, so you have full control of how much steam comes out. This makes it safe for doing light and delicate fabrics.
